About the Role Step into a high-impact role where your public accounting experience and technical expertise truly make a difference. As an Accountant on Entergy’s External Reporting team, you’ll take the lead on complex, high-visibility financial reporting that shapes how we communicate with regulators, investors, and key stakeholders. You’ll drive the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and play a pivotal part in other external reporting requirements, including FERC reporting, benefits reporting, and specialized regulatory filings.

What You'll Do

• Execute the preparation of high-quality SEC and external financial reports, including Forms 10-K/10-Q, FERC Form 1/3Q, and other regulatory filings.
• Research and interpret complex accounting and SEC reporting matters, staying ahead of evolving rule-making and industry guidance.
• Prepare, analyze, and review complex financial statements, identifying key risks and ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
• Contribute to internal financial systems projects, evaluation of accounting and financial implications of strategic initiatives.
• Drive process improvements by championing automation, operational efficiency, and continuous enhancement of reporting quality.
• Partner closely with external auditors to resolve audit inquiries and support quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
• Support capital market and regulatory activities, including bond offerings, regulatory submissions, and preparation of carve-out financial statements for strategic transactions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience for Accountant III; 5+ years for Accountant Lead; 8+ years for Accountant, Sr Lead.
• Big 4 public accounting or closely related experience preferred.
• Experience with preparation of SEC financial statements and disclosures preferred.
• Utility accounting experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and technical knowledge of accounting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple and changing priorities.
• Working knowledge of the FERC Uniform System of Accounts preferred.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with other departments/functions.

Nice to Have

• Utility accounting experience and familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
