Accountant – Hotel Apartments

About the Role

• We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Hotel Accountant to manage the financial operations, reporting and controls of a hospitality property.
• The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, effective revenue and expense controls, timely reporting, proper cash management and strong financial discipline across the business.
• The role requires someone who understands that hospitality accounting is not simply about recording transactions, but also about protecting revenue, controlling costs and providing management with accurate financial information for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting records, transactions and reconciliations.

• Monitor room revenue, POS, cash, bank, OTA and online payments.

• Reconcile PMS/hotel software reports with accounting records.

• Manage QuickBooks and other accounting systems.

• Monitor expenses, purchases, supplier payments and cost controls.

• Prepare payroll and maintain accurate staff cost records.

• Monitor inventory, stock and purchasing records.

• Prepare monthly financial and management reports.

• Monitor revenue leakage, discrepancies and financial risks.

• Support budgeting, forecasting and management decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Proven experience as a Hotel Accountant, Hospitality Accountant, Apartment Accountant or similar senior accounting role.
• Strong understanding of hotel, shortlet or serviced-apartment revenue and expense controls.
• Proficiency in PMS and hotel management software is required.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting tools.
• Ability to reconcile PMS, POS, bank, cash, OTA and accounting records.
• Strong analytical, reporting and reconciliation skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and financial discipline.
• Strong integrity and ability to maintain effective financial controls.
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.

Compensation

• N200,000 per month, with the opportunity for additional benefits based on the company’s compensation structure and applicable employment terms.
