Job title: Accountant (General Ledger) M/F
About the Role CFAO MOBILITY Division is seeking an Accountant (General Ledger) based in South Africa to manage general ledger activities, support monthly close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting within a motor dealership context.
What You'll Do
- Reconciliation of allocated balance sheet accounts
- Preparation of tax schedules and VAT reconciliations
- Processing of supplier invoices (when required)
- Preparation of Capex packs and processing thereof
- Analysis of accounts upon request
- Ensure all journals are up to date and processed when required
- Assist other accounting staff, particularly during peak periods
- Perform ad hoc admin/other responsibilities as required by management
What We're Looking For
- B-com Finance degree
- Minimum of 3 years accounting experience
- Proficient in English; excellent verbal and writing skills
- Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently; own transport
- Beneficial: good interpretation and analytical skills; ability to compile and interpret financial data; accurate data-capturing and record-keeping; understanding of basic accounting principles; experience in a centralized environment; knowledge of Drive IA / Autoline and motor dealership admin systems
- Attitudinal: hardworking, able to work under pressure, initiative, flexible, motivated and reliable
Nice to Have
- Good interpretation and analytical skills
- Ability to compile and interpret financial data
- Accurate data-capturing and record-keeping skills
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Financial work experience in a centralized environment
- Knowledge of the administrative systems of a motor dealership (Drive IA / Autoline)
- Accounting background applicable to a motor dealership within a computer environment
