About this role
A position for Accountant, Accounts Receivable with BIC World, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, as part of the Order to Cash service line. The role focuses on timely and effective Accounts Receivable management in line with internal procedures, including processing incoming payments and ensuring on-time cash collection. You will work with multiple departments and stakeholders to support AR processes and country-specific requirements, helping to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Process payments: book payments with invoice matching, customer deductions and/or advances.
- Cash collection: conduct regular follow-ups with customers and the Commercial Unit to ensure effective and on-time collection of receivables (reminders, phone calls).
- Accounts reconciliation.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in accounts receivable and collection processes.
- Participate in local meetings and act as a key subject matter expert regarding country processes and customer specifics.
- Contact customers through appropriate channels (phone, email, chat, etc.) as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying, proposing, and implementing development activities to enhance performance.
Requirements
- Education: High school degree required; university education is desired.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a Shared Services environment for a global company is required; 3-5 years of experience in a global company is a plus.
- Languages: Advanced English and Greek.
- ERP systems: Exposure to ERPs; JDE experience is a plus.
- Skills: Good communication, strong customer service orientation, and attention to detail.
