About this role
We are seeking a detailed and results-oriented Accountant to oversee daily financial operations for a solar-powered refrigeration and cold chain services organisation based in Lagos Mainland. The role requires maintaining accurate records, ensuring statutory compliance, and delivering timely management reports to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledgers, fixed asset registers, and accurate accounting records.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, and cash-flow forecasts.
- Perform regular bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and payment tracking.
- Track monthly operational expenses against approved budgets.
- Manage statutory compliance and tax filings (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.).
- Prepare financial schedules for grants/projects and coordinate annual audit processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- ICAN / ACCA / ANAN certification (or active progress) is a strong advantage.
- In-depth understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical, and financial reporting skills with high integrity.
