About this role

About the Role The Account Representative - Customs Brokerage supports the clearance of goods into the U.S. by coordinating entries and acting as the primary liaison between GEODIS and customers. This on-site, full-time role focuses on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely communication with customers, suppliers, and government agencies. What You'll Do

  • Serve as the customer service liaison between the company and the customer.
  • Process Custom and Other Government Agency (OGA) entries for clearance of goods into the United States.
  • Open files, enter notes, information, and document requests in Cargowise and/or AS400 system.
  • Classify invoices based on HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule).
  • Send information/document requests to company employees, suppliers, service providers, and/or U.S. Government agencies as needed.
  • Communicate with specified offices, departments, and teams on all issues affecting customs brokerage.
  • File document requests, correspondence and documents in a file folder identified by the applicable shipping/reference number.
  • Ensure compliance with regard to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife, etc.
  • Coordinate shipping details with U.S. Forwarders, Steamship Lines, Airlines, Agents, etc.
  • Convert and verify shipment weight, volume and foreign currency.
  • Maintain communication with customers, carriers and vendors.
  • Coordinate pick-ups and invoice files.
  • Assist customers with questions, complaints, requests, tracking and tracing.
  • Handle accounting processes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordination of shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS (container freight station) to customer/consignee destination.
  • Review documentation or issue documents to meet government regulations and carrier regulations.
  • Must have knowledge of buying/selling rates to ensure profitability. What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years customs brokerage experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. government agency and customs clearance requirements.
  • PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word/Access/Excel.
  • Strong communication, planning, multitasking, and math skills. Nice to Have
  • Experience with Cargowise and/or AS400. Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $24-$25 per hour; Onsite; Full-time.
