Job Summary
The Account Officer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, monitoring payments and receipts, and providing timely financial information to support effective financial management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in accordance with established accounting procedures.

Process and verify invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, expense claims, and other financial documents.

Prepare and process payments to vendors, suppliers, staff, and other approved beneficiaries.

Monitor daily income and expenditure and ensure that all transactions are properly documented and authorised.

Reconcile bank statements, cashbooks, payment records, and other financial accounts regularly.

Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Follow up on outstanding payments and receivables and provide regular updates to the Head of Finance.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as required.

Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and management reports.

Monitor cash collections and ensure that all revenue received is accurately recorded and appropriately accounted for.

Verify supporting documents before processing financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies.

Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN/ACCA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.

Relevant accounting or finance training.

Required Experience
-
2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.

Experience in a hospital, healthcare organisation, service organisation, or corporate environment is an advantage.

Practical experience with accounting software and financial reporting.
