The Role

As an Account Manager II, you will expand our Regional Enterprise business by building new customer relationships and delivering technology solutions that address complex business needs. You will own new-business development within the Houston market, engaging prospective enterprise customers through consultative, solution-based selling.

  • Candidates must live in Houston, Texas, or within a one-hour commute.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Develop new Regional Enterprise business by identifying and engaging prospective enterprise customers headquartered in the assigned market.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, customer visits, networking, lead generation, proposals, and customer appointments.
  • Apply a consultative, solution-based sales approach to understand customer priorities and connect them with appropriate products, services, and solutions.
  • Identify, pursue, negotiate, and close new sales opportunities to meet or exceed established revenue and sales quotas.
  • Create comprehensive account plans and strategies that support new-business growth and expansion within existing accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Solutions and Technology experts, Sales Support, and Service Delivery to solve customer challenges.
  • Share customer and market insights with sales leadership and recommend actions that strengthen Lumen’s position with customers.

  • Five to seven or more years of experience selling enterprise technology services through a consultative, solution-based methodology.
  • Experience navigating complex sales processes from prospecting through close.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships, negotiate effectively, and close new business.
  • Strong written, verbal, and formal presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and communicate complex products, services, and solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
