About the Role The Corporate Subscription team in Wiley's Applied Research Intelligence group is seeking a strategic sales professional responsible for helping the world's most research-intensive companies build AI-ready knowledge infrastructure using peer-reviewed scientific content. This role focuses on managing key corporate accounts spanning multiple industries while developing new business opportunities. You will sell complex solutions, requiring a consultative and value-driven sales approach to understand customer needs and create tailored proposals to close opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement territory sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets and uncover customer needs
- Build and manage stakeholder networks across multiple personas; identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Prospect new business while maintaining existing relationships; create data-driven account strategies
- Apply structured solution selling with rigorous discovery, ROI-focused business cases, and multi-threaded stakeholder management
- Create compelling commercial proposals linking customer AI/research workflows to Wiley solutions; articulate ROI and risk mitigation
- Forecast and manage pipeline in CRM; drive data-driven negotiations to close deals
- Act as primary contact for assigned accounts; deliver exceptional customer service and measure value with Customer Success
- Conduct in-depth market and customer research to tailor outreach and inform strategy
- Represent Wiley at industry events and stay current on trends; travel up to 30% as needed
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to deliver complex, bespoke solutions
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience selling complex, multi-stakeholder solutions to corporate clients in research-intensive sectors
- Proven track record selling to corporate clients in pharma/biotech/chemicals/engineering or related fields
- Experience handling AI applications in research and corporate environments
- Proven account management and business development experience; strong sales results against targets
- Background in management consulting, scientific advisory, or customer-facing solutions architecture is desirable
- Knowledge of R&D workflows in pharma drug discovery, materials science, or related areas
- Self-motivated with strategic thinking, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to internal/external audiences; willingness to travel up to 30%
Nice to Have
- Experience diagnosing complex organizational problems prior to commercial recommendations
- Familiarity with pharma drug discovery, materials science, or regulatory science workflows
