About the job
Account Executive - Ecommerce AI - Western Europe
Alhena · Full-time · Remote - Western Europe (including the UK and Switzerland)
Alhena helps ecommerce brands use AI to guide shoppers and deliver customer service. We sell to leaders in ecommerce, digital experience and customer experience who need a clear business case and a practical path to implementation.
We’re looking for an account executive who can create opportunities and take them through discovery, evaluation and close. You’ll work with our Business Development Lead, growth team, founders and technical colleagues. You should be comfortable developing your own pipeline while making the most of inbound interest, partner introductions and existing relationships.
What you’ll own
- Develop a focused account plan and originate relevant opportunities through thoughtful outreach, referrals and buyer conversations.
- Run discovery that establishes the business problem, its importance, the current approach, decision-makers and buying process. Qualify honestly and recognize when an account belongs in nurture.
- Lead demonstrations around the buyer’s actual workflow. Work with technical colleagues to confirm capabilities, integration requirements and a realistic evaluation scope.
- Help a champion build a credible business case and engage the people who control the decision and budget.
- Run evaluations with agreed success criteria, responsibilities, dates and a decision process. Keep the buyer and internal team aligned as questions emerge.
- Manage proposals, commercial conversations and negotiation within agreed pricing and approval boundaries.
- Maintain accurate opportunity records and forecasts based on evidence. Complete a clear handoff to the implementation or customer team after a sale.
What we’re looking for
You can show evidence of creating and winning business, whether in B2B software sales, your own venture or another demanding commercial setting. Explain how you found the opportunity, understood the problem, reached the decision-maker and earned a commitment. Bring examples of what did not work and what you changed afterward.
We welcome exceptional early-career candidates. Your strongest evidence might be unusual sales performance, a business you built, academic distinction paired with initiative, or substantial ownership in an internship or first role. We do not require a particular university, employer or minimum tenure. You will still need to demonstrate discovery, commercial judgment and the ability to lead an opportunity through a buying decision.
You can translate a technical product into a buyer’s business priorities without overstating capabilities or results. You listen carefully, follow through consistently, and can keep a process moving without relying on pressure or repeated generic check-ins.
Experience selling commerce, customer experience, support, personalization or related software is especially relevant. You should be comfortable with CRM discipline, account research and AI-assisted preparation, and willing to learn the product in depth. We value demonstrated judgment and execution over a particular degree or employer name.
Fluent written and spoken English is required for commercial conversations. Different accents and backgrounds are welcome. We’ll agree regular working-hour overlap with the team and the US or European customers you serve before an offer.
Your first 90 days
- First 30 days: Learn the product and buyer workflows, shadow customer conversations, demonstrate discovery and product fluency, and agree an account plan and qualification criteria.
- By 60 days: Own discovery and follow-up for an agreed set of opportunities, create relevant pipeline, and lead a bounded evaluation with technical support where appropriate.
- By 90 days: Manage opportunities from initial interest through commercial decisions, maintain a credible forecast, and show progress against the ramp goals agreed for the actual sales cycle.
Performance expectations will reflect account maturity, sales-cycle length and the resources available. The role calls for independent commercial ownership and close collaboration with the team.
How we’ll get to know you
We’ll begin with a discussion of deals you’ve personally owned. Shortlisted candidates complete a paid exercise capped at two hours, including a simulated discovery conversation and a brief demonstration or evaluation plan using supplied material. We’ll discuss your decisions and follow-up approach, then arrange team and reference conversations. No real prospect outreach or unpaid customer deliverable is required.
Compensation and working arrangements
Annual salary range: US$30,000–US$60,000. The final offer depends on relevant experience and the agreed employment arrangement.
Our collaboration timezone is Pacific Time (America/Los_Angeles). Regular overlap with Pacific Time business hours is required; exact daily hours will be agreed before an offer.
