About this role

Account Executive, Casualty

RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty, is a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. Our experienced brokers are specialized in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation and workers’ compensation, providing creative solutions to retail brokerage firms. We define ourselves through our superior execution on behalf of our clients, which has established us as a leader in the industry.

Position Summary We’re looking for an Account Executive to join our Casualty brokerage team in New York. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the client servicing and account management side of brokerage, partnering closely with brokers to manage renewals, prepare submissions, coordinate with markets, and keep accounts moving from start to finish.

The ideal candidate brings experience within commercial insurance, preferably wholesale brokerage and/or Casualty, and enjoys being deeply involved in the day-to-day management of a book of business. This is a great fit for someone who wants to continue building their career as a strong account and client service professional while developing deeper Casualty expertise.

What will your job entail?

What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with brokers to manage the day-to-day servicing of a Casualty book of business.

  • Coordinate the renewal process, including renewal reviews, gathering account information, preparing submissions, and tracking activity through completion.

  • Prepare market submissions, quote comparisons, cover letters, proposals, and other client-facing materials.

  • Review quotes, policies, binders, endorsements, and other account documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with brokers, clients, agents, and carrier partners to keep accounts moving efficiently.

  • Support client retention by anticipating servicing needs, identifying outstanding items, and proactively addressing account issues.

  • Assist with new business opportunities, including preparing submissions, proposals, presentations, and other materials.

  • Maintain accurate client and account information within internal systems and ensure documentation meets established quality and compliance standards.

  • Partner with internal teams, including Premium Accounting, to resolve invoicing and account-related issues.

  • Provide reporting and account insights that help brokers understand activity across the book and identify areas requiring attention.

  • Ensure accounts are handled in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of commercial insurance experience, ideally within brokerage, account management, underwriting, or a similar client-service function.

  • Wholesale brokerage and/or Casualty experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting the renewal and servicing of commercial insurance accounts.

  • Strong client service mindset with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing submissions, quotes, policies, and account documentation.

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys the account management and servicing side of the business and wants to continue developing in that space.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state P&C and/or surplus lines licensing as required.

  • CISR or other relevant insurance designation is a plus.
