Purpose of the role

This is a senior, client-facing role for a digital and paid social specialist with a strong performance marketing focus. You will lead the planning, activation, and optimisation of paid social campaigns, helping clients achieve objectives across brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation.

You’ll bring hands-on platform expertise and strategic advice, with a particular focus on B2B audiences and campaigns.

You will own client relationships and account delivery, use data to demonstrate performance and impact, and contribute to account growth and new business. You’ll also help develop junior colleagues’ skills in paid social and digital marketing. There are no direct reports initially, but the role offers scope to grow into people leadership as the team develops.

Responsibilities

  • · Develop full-funnel paid social and digital strategies that support client goals, including brand awareness and lead generation, and connect with wider PR, content, and marketing activity.

  • · Plan, activate, and optimize campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and Meta, using hands-on expertise in targeting, budgets, testing, and bidding.

  • · Advise clients on platform trends, advertising opportunities, and new formats; present recommendations and results to strengthen relationships and improve performance.

  • · Manage campaign budgets and account commercials, monitor spend, and use clear reporting on performance and ROI to make data-led recommendations.

  • · Identify account growth and new-business opportunities, collaborating with creative and specialist teams to deliver work. Help develop junior colleagues’ skills in paid social and digital activation; this is not a hands-on content-creation role.

About you

You are a digitally focused account leader with strong paid social expertise and a performance mindset. You can move confidently between planning and activation, and you enjoy using data to understand what is working and recommend what to do next. You have experience working with B2B clients and understand how to use paid channels to reach business audiences.

You are comfortable owning client relationships and workstreams with autonomy, communicating clearly with clients, and helping them connect campaign activity to business outcomes. You enjoy sharing your knowledge and supporting junior colleagues. You are a digital and paid media specialist who can collaborate effectively with creative and content teams, rather than a hands-on content creator.

Experience and skills

· Experience in a communications, digital, media, or marketing agency, with a strong focus on paid social and digital marketing.

· Experience working with B2B clients; experience across B2C or consumer-facing campaigns is also valuable.

· Demonstrable experience planning and activating paid social campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and Meta.

· Experience managing significant campaign budgets and optimizing performance against agreed objectives.

· Strong understanding of performance marketing, full-funnel activity, and the different roles of brand awareness and lead generation.

· Confidence using data and analytics to measure results, report on ROI, and make practical recommendations.

· An understanding of wider social media trends, advertising products, and emerging formats.

· Strong client-facing, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, account growth, and new-business opportunities.

This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the responsibilities for this role. Other responsibilities may be added from time to time.
