Job title: Academic Support Coordinator, College of Agriculture & Natural Resources

About the Role Part-time, non-benefitted position in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Undergraduate Student Services Office. Provides administrative, fiscal, and event coordination support to serve CANR's undergraduate population and recruitment efforts for over 1000 students across 14 majors.

What You'll Do

  • Professionally serves as the first point of contact, in person and on the phone, for CANR’s Undergraduate Student Services Office.
  • Handle all daily incoming calls and walk-in inquiries from faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public.
  • Perform routine and non-routine administrative and records processing duties with confidentiality.
  • Interpret and communicate UD academic policies and procedures to faculty, current students and staff regarding UDSIS, grading and registration questions, student policies, student crisis issues, referrals, scholarships, transfer credits, admission, readmission, etc.
  • Arrange extensive recruitment visits for prospective students and families, including scheduling faculty and coordinating facility and farm tours with student Ambassadors.
  • Welcome and engage prospective families during campus visits; assist with responding to inquiries from prospective students.
  • Retrieve and report data from UD’s Slate admissions system to assist CANR staff during recruitment cycles.
  • Provide administrative support related to the Ag Ambassador Program; track tour training, participation credits, and incentive distribution.
  • Coordinate CANR events (Convocation, New Student Orientation, Blue and Golden Saturdays, Admitted Student Days) with invitations, mailings, messaging, and room scheduling.
  • Place merchandise orders with approved vendors for Ag Ambassador apparel and CANR swag used during recruitment.
  • Provide administrative support with the Undergraduate Student Services budget; assist with ProCard administration in Concur; ensure expenses are documented, allocated, and reconciled.
  • Process financial forms (journal vouchers, work orders, vendor payments, etc.); respond to select emails.
  • Connect students with appropriate staff and campus resources; assist with special projects, data collection, reports, and correspondence.
  • Organize mass emails and direct mailings to students (mail merges); act as liaison with CANR departments and UD student support units.
  • Manage archiving and student records retention; order supplies and equipment; maintain office displays; monitor expenses within the department budget.
  • Comply with university policies and data governance rules; perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred; three years of experience or an equivalent education/experience combination.
  • Initiative, motivation, strong organizational skills, and detail orientation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $21 - $24 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Part-time, non-benefitted position.
  • Work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with four in-person days per week.
