Job title: Academic Excellence Coach (ACE)
About the Role Voorhees University's Academic Center of Excellence (ACE) is a full-service, holistic integrative learning unit designed to support undergraduate students from first-year through graduation. ACE operates in collaboration with academic deans, faculty, and campus-wide academic support programs to provide continuous, quality support for student success. The ACE framework centers on helping students understand and address real-world problems, beginning with strategies for self-assessment and self-resolution. ACE consists of three components: Academic Excellence Coaching; Retention/Persistence/Graduation Alliance; and Guided Learning Tutorial Resources (GLTR). ACE aims to serve as a model for institution-wide improvement through classroom, co-curricular, and experiential practices that support retention and progression to graduation.
What You'll Do
- Work within the Academic Center of Excellence to assign and work with Academic Excellence Coaches to develop individualized academic plans focused on time management, goal setting, and study skills.
- Support aggressive, intrusive retention efforts centralized via ACE to increase retention, persistence, and graduation rates, assisting students from matriculation to employment in high-demand careers.
- Oversee the Guided Learning Tutorial Resources (GLTR) tutoring program, coordinating in-person and virtual tutorials with Academic Excellence Coaches, tutors, and faculty.
- Collaborate with academic deans, faculty, and campus-wide academic support programs to implement best and promising practices that improve student success and persistence.
- Contribute to ongoing assessment and alignment with Voorhees University's strategic plan for retention and student achievement by tracking progress and outcomes.
