A/C Absorption & Refrig Mech

About the Role The A/C Absorption & Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and implementing preventive maintenance for the air conditioning and refrigeration program at the CUMC Campus. This role ensures reliable climate control through hands-on mechanical work and adherence to safety policies. What You'll Do

• Maintain air conditioning and refrigeration equipment across CUMC facilities.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot systems.
• Work with environmental boxes and Harris boxes with humidification.
• Repair supplementary A/C equipment such as compressors, fans, motors, pumps, and condensing units.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Follow applicable department safety policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of technical or training programs preferred.
• Five to eight years of experience in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA CFC Universal certification.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose problems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control systems and ability to train others; basic writing skills.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to undergo background verification and drug screening; medical clearance including MMR records and TB testing.
• Note: Employees hired after March 26, 1999, will be subject to a four-year wage progression in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Nice to Have
• Completion of technical or training programs is preferred. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range: $37.93 - $47.41 per hour USD.
• The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
