3rd Shift Supervisor, Machine Maintenance

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to direct, coordinate, monitor, and train associates within the Machine Maintenance Department on 3rd Shift. This person would report directly to the Senior Supervisor, and would be a direct mentor and manager to the Machine Maintenance team; this includes both hourly and salaried maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate would have a strong technical aptitude, and the leadership and supervisory skills needed to direct our Greenfield plant's Machine Maintenance department. This position is fully onsite at the Greenfield plant, and would require flexibility as some weekends and general overtime may be needed.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Project Management
• Direct Continuous Improvement Activities
• Support/Control Department Budgets
• Direct / Implement / Manage Preventative Maintenance Programs
• Supervise both salaried and hourly associates
• Availability to be “on call”

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

• Technical related (Engineering, Maintenance, etc) work experience.
• Experience in leading a technical team
• Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MSWord, and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
• Self-motivated Individual

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

• Previous supervisory experience

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy
• Proven ability to:
• Promote and exemplify the “Astemo Philosophy” and “5 Joys” and maintain a clean and orderly work environment in accordance with “6S.”
• Confer with and prepare reports for upper management and possibly other Astemo companies
• Control department or corporate budgets and approve expenditures
• Ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional area
• Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate personnel and provide support / training as needed
• Provide strong leadership to subordinate personnel
• Interact with various levels of associates
• Improve manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives
• Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Technical Team.
• Coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization as needed
• Maintain clean and orderly work environment
• Analyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confer with all departments to assess the feasibility of projects
• Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated
• Read and understand complex Mechanical & Electrical Drawings (using JIS standards)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Will supervise both hourly and salaried associates

Software:

• Software requirements (CAD, Glovia, Excel, etc)

• Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting
• Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
• Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds
• Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
• Full motor skills

Work Environment – Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.
