About the Role Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is seeking a Civil Traffic Estimator to join the Lone Tree team. The role supports project pursuits and awarded projects by coordinating ITS, Electrical, Signage and Signals design and collaborating with Civil Engineering disciplines to deliver safe, innovative, and cost-effective solutions. What You'll Do

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from source files including CAD, Microstation, Blue Beam or PDF
  • Prepare estimates for subcontracted and self-perform traffic work including ITS/Electrical/Signage/Signals
  • Travel to projects or pursuit offices, interface with other discipline estimators to ensure scope alignment
  • Input quantities into estimating software, apply unit pricing based on actual historical costs using Kiewit database; prepare theoretical estimates when historical data is unavailable
  • Research historical projects to determine past costs applicable to the work
  • Perform top-down ROM estimates and bottoms-up estimates by analyzing every aspect of each operation
  • Prepare subcontractor bid packages including compiling quantities and writing detailed scope
  • Answer technical questions from bidders and work with Kiewit Supply Network to compile quote comparison
  • Prepare and present estimate review packets
  • Prepare construction schedule by advising schedule technicians on activity logic, duration, and resource loading
  • Apply Kiewit standard account codes to estimate work
  • Participate in continuous improvement through self-paced training and debrief sessions What We're Looking For
  • Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, or equivalent years of experience within ITS, Traffic and/or Dry Utilities
  • 5+ years of experience in project management/engineering of civil and electrical construction
  • Ability to open and manipulate .dwg, .dgn, .pdf files
  • Working knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise
  • Basic knowledge of utility construction means and methods
  • Construction field management recommended
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of estimating software such as InEight, HCSS or Hard Dollar
  • Basic knowledge of heavy civil construction operations such as grading, paving, drainage, structures
  • High attention to detail and self-checking for accuracy Nice to Have
  • Experience coordinating ITS, Lighting, Electrical, Signage and interfaces across multiple disciplines Compensation & Benefits
  • Base compensation: $94,767 - $124,127 per year
