The Lowdown We engineer and fabricate high-precision assembly systems and massive aerospace tooling (including the largest Invar molds in the world) that make next-generation aircraft and defense systems fly.

We are seeking a Shop Supervisor for our 2nd Shift Fab & Form Department who leads from the front. This is a working manager role—while your primary focus is directing personnel and driving quality, you must possess strong, hands-on welding expertise to step in and complete critical welds when duty calls.

Pay & Shift Details

• Pay Range: $37.00 – $40.00 / hour ($76,960 – $83,200 / year based on 40 hrs/wk).
• Shift Breakdown:
• Phase 1 (Training): Initial training and onboarding take place on 1st Shift starting at 5:00 AM.
• Phase 2 (Production): Once fully trained, you will transition to manage the 2nd Shift Fab & Form Department.
• Schedule & Location: Full-time (overtime/weekends as needed). Santa Ana, CA 92705.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Operations: Direct daily 2nd-shift fab/form activities, assign work, deliver shift updates, and mentor team members safely.

• Hands-On Welding: Maintain top-tier welding skills to step in on the floor as needed—performing hands-on MIG, TIG, or Flux welds, component repairs, or fixture revisions.

• Tooling & Fabrication: Supervise and assist in fabricating fixtures, jigs, gauges, special tooling, and high-precision assembly components.

• Quality & Continuous Improvement: Read complex engineering blueprints, maintain tight tolerances on steel, aluminum, and Invar 36, and optimize shop workflows.

• What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years hands-on welding + 3+ years supervisory experience in a fast-paced shop environment.

• Process Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in MIG, TIG, and Flux welding.

• Materials: Skilled with steel, aluminum, and Invar 36.

• Education: High school diploma/GED + completion of a 1-year college/technical Welding Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Supervision & Leadership: Direct daily operations for the 2nd Shift Fab & Form Department, assign work, enforce safety protocols, and mentor team members to achieve departmental metrics.
• Hands-On Welding (Working Manager): Maintain advanced welding capability to step in on the floor as needed, performing MIG, TIG, or Flux welds, component repairs, and fixture adjustments.
• Shift Handover & Operations: Communicate daily schedules, goals, quality issues, and project updates between shifts to ensure seamless handoff and meet customer delivery timelines.
• Tooling & Fabrication: Oversee and assist in fabricating and revising fixtures, jigs, gauges, special tooling, and high-precision assembly equipment.
• Process & Quality Excellence: Interpret complex blueprints and specs, maintain tight tolerances on steel, aluminum, and Invar 36, and partner with management to drive continuous improvement.
• Training & Compliance: Conduct job-specific training, ensure team compliance, and maintain work area standards and equipment maintenance.

The essential functions of this role include:
