About the Role This is a full-time, onsite sandblaster position in a manufacturing environment. The role supports surface preparation and, as needed, powder coating operations, with opportunities to work in both areas. What You'll Do
- Operate a sandblasting system in a blasting room equipped with a hopper and media recovery system.
- Sandblast stainless steel, carbon steel, and alumina parts using JetMag® abrasive media to prepare surfaces for paint or powder coating.
- Monitor the dust collection system and empty the self-dumping dust collector hopper daily using a forklift to ensure proper operation and a clean work area.
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials and support daily production as needed.
- Inspect parts to ensure proper surface preparation and quality.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of blasting equipment and work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Assist with powder coating operations as a backup when needed. What We're Looking For
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; some vocational training preferred.
- Ability to operate sandblasting and dust collection equipment; PPE use and safety procedures.
- Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred (or willingness to become certified).
- Experience using JetMag® or similar abrasive blasting media is a plus.
- Powder coating experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Working knowledge of sandblasting machines, materials, processes, and safety hazards.
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
- Willingness to pass background check and drug test. Nice to Have
