About the Role Jones Day U.S. offices welcome rising 2Ls to apply for 2L summer positions in the 2027 Summer Associate Program. You will work side-by-side with Jones Day lawyers on real assignments and will participate in mentorship and training, including a two-day orientation in Washington, DC. What You'll Do
- Work on real assignments alongside Jones Day lawyers.
- Gain exposure to a variety of assignments across practice areas, including pro bono.
- Receive mentorship from an associate and partner, and participate in substantive training and orientation. What We're Looking For
- Rising 2L (class of 2028) for the 2027 Summer Associate Program.
- Interest in the practice areas and willingness to express city preferences (you may apply to up to three Jones Day offices).
- Ability to submit the required application materials: cover letter indicating city of interest, resume, undergraduate transcript, law school transcript, and writing sample; you will upload your first-year transcript and any additional materials via a link. Nice to Have
- Interest in pro bono and flexible experience across assignments. Compensation & Benefits
- Summer Associate base salary: annualized at $225,000 across all U.S. offices.
- Additional $2,500 per week during the 10-week program (totaling $25,000).
- Includes mentorship, extensive substantive training, and a two-day orientation program in Washington, DC. You are trained on data up to October 2023.
