About this role

About the Role Join Green Dot Public Schools as a Middle & High School Special Education Teacher focusing on Mild-Moderate needs for the 2026-27 school year. You’ll work within a collaborative service delivery model with teachers, school psychologists, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other service providers to support students with disabilities and ensure access to the core and individualized curricula. What You'll Do

  • Provide direct instruction and services for students with IEPs and/or those served in the Mild to Moderate SDP, in small-group settings and/or the general education classroom in collaboration with the general education teacher.
  • Co-teach general education classes to increase service delivery for special education students in the general education setting.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to plan accommodations/modifications for access to the core/alternative curricula and behavior support plans.
  • Provide consultation on evaluation data, behavior patterns, classroom management, and resources for individuals with exceptional needs to staff, parents, and guardians.
  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, testing specialists, school psychologists, social workers, and professionals to develop and monitor IEPs.
  • Provide direct support to SST and 504 teams by developing intervention plans for at-risk students.
  • Deliver workshops and professional development on special education procedures/guidelines, accommodations/modifications, and methodologies for serving students with exceptional needs in general education.
  • Train and monitor paraprofessionals on special education guidelines and implementation of IEPs.
  • Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress; confer with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve behavioral and academic problems. What We're Looking For
  • Eligible for California Education Specialist Intern, Preliminary/Level I or Clear/Level II credential for Mild/Moderate Needs by July 2026.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and implement accommodations/modifications to ensure access to core/alternative curricula and behavior support.
  • Experience co-teaching and providing consultation to staff, families, and administrators.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to accurate documentation of IEPs and related records. Nice to Have
  • Credential readiness or experience with MTSS/SST/504 processes.
  • Familiarity with professional development delivery in special education and a willingness to coach teammates. Compensation & Benefits
