About the Role A Preschool Paraprofessional for the Republic R-III School District's 2026-27 Early Childhood Special Education program. Supports instruction and supervision of students in an early childhood setting to promote a positive learning environment.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in instruction and supervise students in the preschool setting
  • Maintain student files, inventory and financial records, student assessment data, and accident reports as required by district/state regulations
  • Support classroom management to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Assist in supervising students and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with staff, students, parents, and community
  • Demonstrate professional conduct and be a positive representative of the school
  • Attend meetings, participate in school-related activities, and pursue professional growth
  • Handle confidential information professionally
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in good condition; report needed repairs
  • Be punctual, responsible in attendance, and ensure work is done professionally
  • Prepare adequately for the job and solve routine problems independently
  • Accept direction from the Lead Teacher and appropriately supervise students before, during, and after school as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director to Student Services
  • Obtain continuing education credits as prescribed by district/state regulations as required

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 60 college hours preferred, preferably in education and/or early childhood
  • Must meet Missouri child care regulation standards
  • Prior early childhood experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to supervise students and maintain records
  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice and ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Nice to Have

  • Willingness to obtain required continuing education credits as prescribed by the district/state
