Job title: Security Officer, Orange Park, FL (Armed)

About the Role The Security Officer (Armed) is responsible for maintaining a secure campus environment for Lincoln Memorial University’s Orange Park operation. This role performs day-to-day security activities, enforces campus policies, and responds to incidents in accordance with LMU handbooks and state requirements. This position requires firearms proficiency and emergency response readiness.

What You'll Do

• Conduct routine security rounds of all property
• Maintain security of keys and key access
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and pass-on information
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and determine proper course of action
• Firearms handling and operation of enforcement equipment; maintain Emergency Response certification
• Address policy violations and report maintenance/grounds issues
• Assist in training and onboarding of new employees
• Participate in university committees in the absence of the chief
• Maintain knowledge of faculty/staff policy manual, Security SOP, student handbook, and other policy documents
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, and exert physical effort as needed (running, lifting)
• Ensure crime reporting through RMS and track statistics
• Conduct regular security rounds and manage access to keys

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma; valid driver's license
• Must pass psychological evaluation, background check, and drug test
• Must be able to pass required Armed Guard Training Program and relevant state requirements
• Preferred: law enforcement and/or security training
• Must be able to react quickly and calmly in emergencies; make sound decisions
• Ability to defend self and others with or without deadly force; comply with policies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and community
• Willingness to work on an armed security assignment
• Physical ability to exert yourself for short periods (running, lifting)

Nice to Have

• Law enforcement or security training; completion of Armed Guard Training Program is preferred
