Job title: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Internal Medicine, DCOM Knox
About the Role The Assistant/Associate/Professor of Internal Medicine at LMU-DCOM Knoxville will be responsible for teaching LMU-DCOM approved curriculum, clinical duties, and scholarly activity, contributing to the mission of the University, the School, and the Department.
What You'll Do
- Teach LMU-DCOM approved curriculum and participate in clinical duties and scholarly activity.
- Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and the broader LMU community.
- Contribute to planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs within DCOM at LMU-Knoxville.
- Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence in teaching; prepare outlines, lectures, and examinations.
- Provide clinical service and bedside teaching for students; supervise and mentor students during clinical activities and patient care events.
- Participate in clinic quality assurance, service evaluation activities, and scholarly activity; attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Collaborate with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Medicine Knoxville on curricular matters; assist with accreditation reporting and other required institutional reports.
- Represent the department by modeling professional behavior and promoting a respectful academic environment.
What We're Looking For
- D.O. or M.D. degree and Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
- Ability to obtain Tennessee licensure within the first year of hire; maintain unrestricted Tennessee license and professional liability insurance throughout employment.
Nice to Have
- D.O. degree and ability to be licensed in Tennessee by the Tennessee Board of Osteopathic Examination.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical/academic medicine teaching and leadership.
