About the Role LMU's Athletic Trainer is a full-time staff position in the Department of Athletics reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer. The role provides comprehensive intercollegiate athletic coverage for LMU's 22 NCAA Division II sports in the South Atlantic Conference and supports the university's medical program and student-athlete well-being.

What You'll Do

• Actively promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University, the School of Allied Health Sciences, and the Department of Athletic Training to faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.
• Foster effective and collegial working relationships among faculty, staff, and students, while adhering to the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual.
• Contribute to institutional development by serving on University committees and representing the School and Department at professional meetings.
• Promote and maintain a positive, inclusive work environment within the clinical setting—for students, student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff.
• Ensure the delivery of safe and effective clinical experiences for athletic training students by supervising them during intercollegiate assignments, serving as a role model, and monitoring their progress as an approved Preceptor.
• Explore career opportunities for students and support their preparation for the Board of Certification exam.
• Provide comprehensive intercollegiate athletic coverage as assigned, including staffing the athletic training facilities, preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries and illnesses, and documenting medical records in compliance with legal and institutional guidelines.
• Commit to best practices in athletic training, incorporating evidence-based clinical practices that prioritize health and well-being of student-athletes.
• Work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer to support all aspects of the University’s medical program, including budget and supply management, equipment safety and maintenance, and scheduling physical examinations and medical referrals.
• Assist with the development and implementation of the University’s drug testing and education program, and help coordinate the hiring, training, and supervision of Athletic Trainers and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers.
• Schedule sports coverage, manage clinical responsibilities, and ensure compliance with South Atlantic Conference, NCAA, and other governing body regulations.
• Maintain professional certification through ongoing development and education and perform other duties as assigned in support of the University’s mission and student success.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or entry-level Master’s degree in Athletic Training
• NATABOC certification
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Valid driver’s license

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field
• 1-3 years experience working with contact sport, preferably in a collegiate setting
