About this role

004-09-2026/GD-RDC CHAUFFEUR JOURNALIER

GiveDirectly has delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty across 15 countries since 2011. We believe cash transfers are one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid, with the research to back it up. Our work has been covered by The Economist, NPR, TED, and The Washington Post. We are one of Time100’s Most Influential Companies of 2026. We're now preparing to deliver billions of dollars a year to people in extreme poverty, if funding allows. Read our CEO's essay on what that will take.

Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We support high ownership and real professional growth. Curious about what it's really like to work here? Read our values and hear from the people who do. If they resonate, this could be a great fit!

Background: GiveDirectly (GD) seeks to remodel international giving by providing cash subsidies directly to the poorest people in the world. The aim is to make cash transfers a standard in foreign aid, accelerating the end of extreme poverty. GD has raised over 700 million dollars since 2011, disbursed money to over a million people, and opened offices in 10 countries. We support large-scale experimental research showing the impact of our programs. GD has been recognized as one of the most innovative nonprofit organizations by Fast Company, and the movement of cash transfers has been covered by New York Times Magazine, This American Life, Foreign Affairs, and The Economist.

GiveDirectly offers the opportunity to work with people from 21 countries and 69 languages. We strive to create an inclusive, fair environment for all team members. Our culture in offices around the world is frank, analytical, non-hierarchical, and fast. We value capability, adaptability, and the willingness to learn. The national representation office of Give Directly in the DRC is located in Goma, 322, Avenue du Musée, Himbi, Goma, Nord Kivu Province.

About GiveDirectly in the DRC: GiveDirectly DRC was created in 2018 to enable cash transfers to poor and rural populations via mobile phones, to promote food security, poverty reduction and financial inclusion. Since its creation, GiveDirectly DRC has used mobile phones to transfer more than 14 million dollars to over 65,000 beneficiaries across four provinces: South Kivu, North Kivu, Ituri and Kinshasa. Activities include: proof-of-concept cash transfers via mobile phones, implementing innovative targeting technologies for urban populations in Kinshasa in collaboration with the RDC Social Protection Agency, delivery of contactless cash to beneficiaries affected by COVID-19.
