Igalia seeks a software engineer to help ensure collaboration across the media stack—from UI elements of video players to the firmware that controls decoding hardware—delivering smooth and reliable playback for end users. This role emphasizes clear communication, constructive participation in code reviews, and self-direction within a geographically distributed team. Remote work is supported, with in-person meetings in Galicia, Spain a few times per year.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate across the media stack to ensure smooth integration from UI through firmware and decoding hardware.
- Communicate with clients and distributed team members, and clearly explain challenging technical ideas.
- Participate in internal discussions and code reviews, iterating constructively to improve code quality.
