Position Summary
The Research Nurse will be responsible for coordinating patient care and research activities related to a newly funded study investigating how probiotics influence the gut microbiome during critical illness and their potential role in reducing the risk of hospital-acquired infections. The incumbent will coordinate and conduct a single-site clinical trial evaluating a probiotic intervention in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to assess patient eligibility for study participation.
- Screen medical records and other relevant information to identify potential research participants.
- Educate, consent, and enroll patients into the clinical trial.
- Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate delivery of the study intervention.
