Job Description
A Punch Press Operator sets up and operates punch press machinery to cut, punch, form, and shape metal parts according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate punch press machines and related equipment.
- Load and position metal sheets, blanks, or components into the machine.
- Select and install the appropriate dies, punches, and tooling.
- Adjust machine settings such as stroke, pressure, speed, and alignment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
