Principal Scientist, Upstream Process Development
About this role
Merck's Biologics Process Research & Development organization in Rahway, NJ is hiring a Principal Scientist for its Upstream Process Development team. This group develops drug substance manufacturing processes for the company's biologics pipeline, working with Discovery, Pre-clinical, and Early Development to rapidly develop manufacturing processes for diverse biotherapeutics and supply clinical trials, and is also responsible for late-stage process development and process characterization to prepare for commercial manufacturing, partnering with the Company Manufacturing Division to commercialize and launch new products.
In this role, the successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to develop CMC packages supporting late-stage and commercial biologics programs, contributing scientific and technical leadership to upstream process development and characterization efforts.
