Medical Social Worker - Child Advocacy

Medical Social Worker for the Child Advocacy (CA) Department is responsible for serving patients in the emergency department, inpatient units, and the Child Advocacy Clinics when there is a concern for suspected child physical or sexual abuse or child neglect. As an integral part of the Child Advocacy team, the social worker assists families through assessment, collaboration, coordination, mandated referrals, education, community resource linkage and advocacy. Through psychosocial and intervention strategies, this social worker assists patients and families with issues related to resource needs, treatment and prevention. Social worker is responsible for the delivery of social work services which are available to the patient, the patient’s family, and other persons significant to the patient.
