The State of New Jersey seeks a Maintenance Worker for Public Works to perform a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in the care and maintenance of municipal facilities and infrastructure, including streets, stormwater, solid waste, buildings and grounds, parks, open space, and water.
What You'll Do
- Perform labor on construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew across water facilities, roads, stormwater facilities, solid waste, parks, buildings and grounds, and open space.
- Participate in the township's snow removal and ice control program.
- Learn and apply proper and safe techniques for maintenance functions across multiple departments.
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment and tools; report defects and perform routine cleaning.
- Operate vehicles and equipment (dump trucks, pickups, tractors, mowers, jackhammers, etc.) as needed.
