General description The Laboratory Supervisor plans, coordinates, and supervises the operations and staff of the clinical laboratory while maintaining effective quality, safety, and accreditation requirements. The Laboratory Supervisor ensures timely and accurate laboratory services are provided to the patients and BMC staff while adhering to policy and budgeting guidelines.
Roles and responsibilities
- Formulates department goals consistent with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Supervises and participates in personnel management activities for the laboratory through the motivation and training of current staff and the interviewing, hiring, orientation, and training of all new staff.
- Provides hands-on support within the laboratory on a regular basis and is responsible for mentoring and developing the team.
