FEM Engineer - Welding Process (Internship)
About this role
About the Role
Within the R&D team, you will be responsible for modeling, simulation and optimization of the welding process for welded tubes production. The main objective is to develop a Finite Element Method (FEM) model that accurately reproduces thermo‑mechanical welding phenomena, automate model preparation via scripting, and create a simulation dataset to train AI models for process optimization. What You'll Do
- Develop FEM models for welding process simulation of tubes with varying geometry, material and configuration (steel grade, diameter, thickness, length, fillet geometry, number of weld beads).
- Automate model pre-processing (definition of weld beads, generation of added-material volume, discretization of small volumes) via scripting with a dedicated GUI.
