Position Summary
The candidate will be working for Pediatric Cardiology in the pediatric exercise laboratory performing clinical exercise testing / evaluations. The candidate will perform clinical stress testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (aka VO2 max testing), six minute walk testing and body composition / frailty assessments. The candidate will be supervised by the senior exercise physiologist and Dr. Layton. This internship helps to fulfill the 600 clinical hours required for the ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification. This opportunity also provides real time hands on experience working with children with heart or lung disease. The candidate will learn basic ECG interpretation and the ability to recognize arrythmias.
