Associate Principal Scientist, Upstream Development
About this role
Merck (MSD) is hiring an Associate Principal Scientist, Upstream Development in Rahway, NJ, within its Biologics Process Research & Development organization. This group develops drug substance manufacturing processes for the company's biologics pipeline, working closely with Discovery, Pre-clinical, and Early Development teams to develop manufacturing processes for biotherapeutics and supply clinical trials.
The role sits in the Biologics Process Development Department, on the Upstream Process Development team. The successful candidate will contribute to CMC development of the pipeline, playing an active role in the design, development, and optimization of cell culture processes and the transfer of processes to clinical and commercial manufacturing sites, as well as helping develop next-generation process strategies through technology development initiatives.
