About the Role Histology Technician at EVH Evanston Hospital supports tissue processing and prepared slides for histology and pathology. This full-time role is based in Evanston, IL, with Monday–Friday 5:30am–2pm hours and occasional weekends/holidays as needed. The position offers growth opportunities within Endeavor Health's integrated lab services. What You'll Do
- Process tissues using Xpress microwave rapid tissue processor
- Embed tissues manually and automatically using Sakura Auto TEK embedder
- Perform microtomy of paraffin-embedded tissue blocks (manual and automated)
- Perform recuts of tissue blocks
- Perform special stains
- IF cryotomy of skin specimens What We're Looking For
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science and Histology routine training or completed accredited Histology Technology program
