Responsibilities

• The Water Reclamation Plant Operator I responsibilities involves working as part of a team to operate, monitor, service, and clean a wide range of specialized equipment in a large, complex Water Reclamation Facility. Operators are responsible for all stages of wastewater treatment, including primary, secondary, advanced, tertiary, disinfection and cogeneration processes.

• The role includes operating and monitoring plant equipment such as pumps, valves, filters, chemical feed systems, digesters and cogeneration units. Operators conduct routine sampling, testing, and data collection to monitor water quality and process conditions, and they take corrective actions when necessary. They perform minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities, while more complex repairs are handled by specialized maintenance personnel.
