About the Role As a Temporary Certified Coding Specialist, you will analyze medical records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines. You will interact with physicians when documentation is unclear and identify documentation issues to support accurate coding and compliant practices. This remote role supports NeoGenomics' mission to improve patient care.
What You'll Do
- Abstract relevant clinical and demographic information from the medical record to assign current ICD-10 and CPT codes in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines
- Identify principal and secondary ICD-10 diagnosis codes with minimal error based on national based standards
- Code with an accuracy of 97% based on QA internal reviews
- Record all diagnostic procedures and assign appropriate procedure codes
