Telephone Operator

Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah is looking for a Telephone Operator to join the team in Cairo, Egypt. This full-time, permanent role sits within the Rooms division and requires delivering attentive front desk support to guests through the hotel’s Telephone Exchange system.
Responsibilities
- Operate the telephone exchange and handle all incoming calls, connecting guests to the appropriate extensions and taking messages when necessary
- Receive and place long-distance and overseas calls; compute and record charges and inform guests, forwarding charges to the Front Office Cashier
- Screen incoming calls for guests when requested and page called parties via the paging system
- Update the room rack in the Telephone Exchange and manage wake-up calls and directory assistance requests
- Provide general information to guests and assist with emergency communications for the hotel
