About the Role The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and debugging of software for the Biomek automated liquid handling systems. This role involves direct collaboration with customers to gather requirements and verify solutions on real laboratory instruments, as well as work estimation and project management. The position reports to the Head of Automation & Genomics and is based at the Tokyo headquarters, with ongoing interaction with the R&D software team in Indianapolis. What You'll Do
- Apply critical and logical thinking to analyze ambiguous requirements, break down complex problems, and make sound technical decisions
- Prototype, design, implement, test, and maintain software for laboratory and medical research devices
- Work hands-on with real hardware, supporting device control, debugging, and system integration
