About the Role The Sanitation Technician performs sanitation and sterilization of animal caging systems to support a high-level rodent health program at Dana-Farber's Boston campus. This role ensures compliance with SOPs and safety standards while enabling essential animal care and biomedical research operations.
What You'll Do
- Operate mechanical cage wash equipment including automation, tunnel, rack, high pressure autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers, and automatic bedding dispensing units including SureFlo and SureVac
- Remove, receive, and dump/scrape soiled rodent cages and water bottles in preparation for washing; handle clean materials processed through cage wash
- Fill sanitized water bottles with reverse osmosis water from RO stations; prepare clean cage setups for animal care staff; maintain SureVac system as needed
