- Review and interpret veterinarians' orders for appropriateness to ensure that overdoses or under-doses are not prescribed and that interactions, incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from medication combinations.
- Dispense prescriptions to pets in accordance with policy and in conformance with regulations and laws; counsel pet owners about medications and maintain an accurate, up-to-date profile.
- Maintain necessary controls with respect to audited controlled drugs and alcohol; prepare controlled drug requests for delivery by technicians.
