Overview
The Regional Patient Advocate role at Firstsource is a hybrid position working onsite at hospitals (multi-site) or remotely at a medical facility. Immunizations up to date are required due to the healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Review the hospital census or use established referral methods to identify self-pay patients consistently throughout the day.
- Screen patients referred to Firstsource for State, County, and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs.
- Initiate the application process at the bedside when possible and identify patient needs to assist with enrollment applications to the appropriate agency.
- Introduce Firstsource services to patients and inform them that we will contact them regularly about progress.
- Facilitate a transition for the backend Patient Advocate Specialist to develop a positive relationship with the patient.
