About the Role Lead backend initiatives across Engineering, focusing on stability, inter-service testing, and standardization; own cross-team projects spanning multiple quarters and teams; work end-to-end from our client application written in React to our monolithic backend written in Python, and guide long-term engineering directions. What You'll Do
- Focus on friction points around backend issues for all Engineering teams and drive improvements in inter-service testing and overall stability.
- Lead projects that span quarters, breaking problems into small deliverable steps and validating iteratively.
- Evaluate impact through our data pipeline and established frameworks to understand the effect of features on commercial objectives and pivot where necessary.
- Consider the long-term direction of Engineering to stay ahead of challenges 12-18 months out and coordinate across teams.
