About the Role Oilseeds Buyer Trainee is a 12-month temporary maternity leave coverage role supporting Yorkton’s Commercial team. The position provides backup across Settlements, Buyers and General Office Administration, and offers exposure to relationship management, risk awareness, and profitability in the canola market. What You'll Do
- Provide backup and assistance to Settlements, Buyers, General Office Administration, etc.
- Develop and manage customer base and producer relationships via face-to-face meetings, emails and telephone calls
- Arrange and manage delivery schedules of canola in coordination with procurement manager
- Create local canola sales, driving to meet with farmers, updating lead sheets weekly
- Attend producer meetings (sometimes after hours)
- Manage producer discrepancies on canola-related issues verbally
- Manage / update information on web page
