Job title: Mold Maker
About the Role The Mold Maker at Alcon is responsible for the precision repair, maintenance, and optimization of complex injection molds used in high-volume production. You will work closely with Engineering and Production teams at our manufacturing facility in Houston, TX to ensure optimal mold performance, quality, and uptime.
What You'll Do
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on injection molds, including multi-cavity and hot runner systems.
- Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild tooling components to restore performance and extend mold life.
- Machine and fit precision components using toolroom equipment (mills, grinders, lathes, polishing tools).
- Analyze mold failures and defects (flash, short shots, dimensional issues) and implement corrective actions.
