About the Role This role supports public water services by maintaining and servicing water meters and infrastructure. Under supervision, the Meter Technician I performs skilled maintenance and provides customer education related to meter readings and billing processes. What You'll Do
- Set, maintain, repair, and program water meters and related infrastructure; inspect meters, MTUs, and registers for proper operation; replace or repair units as required; program MTU when repaired or replaced to ensure accurate radio readings
- Test meters with customers and respond to inquiries about meter infrastructure and billing processes
- Provide premier customer service by meeting with customers on-site and assisting with meter read verifications and leak evaluations
