About the Role Caterpillar’s Advanced Materials Technology Department is seeking an experienced Metallurgical Engineer to join the US Metallurgical Engineering team and perform Failure & Metallurgical Analysis. The role involves analyzing a wide variety of components, providing design support and development for a diverse customer portfolio, and helping advance materials technology within Caterpillar's global operations. What You'll Do
- Lead material analysis investigations
- Develop metallurgical testing plans and analyze test results
- Create technical reports and/or procedures
- Effectively communicate results to internal customers
- Provide technical support to metallurgical laboratory operations personnel
