About the Role Dayton Children's is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to support the Mental Health Unit by preventing crises among youth and families. The role focuses on early identification of needs, linking families to behavioral health services, and mitigating long-term effects of trauma. The specialist will screen for behavioral health and social needs, connect families to resources, and coordinate follow-up with referral sources.
What You'll Do
- Conduct a behavioral health and social needs screening on all families and provide resource options.
- Follow up with families and communicate outcomes with referral source.
- Work with families to identify barriers to obtaining behavioral health treatment and social needs resources, and problem-solve to identify alternate options when barriers are present.
